Work at height training is a legal requirement in Ireland, anyone who uses a Personal Fall Protection System incorporating a harness and lanyard requires certified work at height training.

A practical assessment of lanyard inspection, and harness inspection and donning is required to gain a full 3 year certificate.

On completion of this training participants will be able to:

  • Carry out a thorough inspection of a lanyard
  • Carry out a thorough inspection of a harness
  • Demonstrate the correct donning of a full body harness
  • Highlight the hazards and risks involved in carrying out work at height.
  • State the work at height hierarchy of control.
  • Ensure that equipment is inspected correctly and used in a safe manner.
  • Ensure that anyone working at height is protected from a fall, or should a fall occur, the consequences of a fall are minimised.
